The fitness center offers a wide range of equipment from cardio machines, circuit training equipment, as well as mats, balls and bands.  People are free to come workout at their own pace with the ability to ask questions on equipment use and recommended exercises for specific needs.

Meet our two Fitness Instructors Tracie and Branden.
Tracie is certified as a Personal Trainer and as a Specialist in Exercise Therapy.

She specializes in brain and balance exercises, which are beneficial to the aging and individuals who have had a stroke or a closed head injury.  She teaches her own “Brain and Balance” class, as well as partnering with the YMCA to teach “A Matter of Balance” classes biannually.  She is currently studying for a Fitness Nutrition Certificate.  Tracie also has 14 years’ experience as a massage therapist and neural muscular therapist.

Tracie is available Tuesday nights and offers a free core class at 5:45pm on Tuesdays, this workout focuses on abdominal, back, and hip strength and flexibility.

She believes that we all need to stay moving, to stay healthy as we age.  Tracie comes from a background of personal injury.  This has led her to find relief from exercise and stretch, and to teach others to do the same.  “I am willing to sit on each machine and show you how it works or to get on a bike across from you if it helps you stay motivated to move.”  “It is a safe, non-judging environment to come get started moving.  You pick what type of exercise you do, I am just there as a sound board and guidance.” Tracie is available Tuesday nights.

Branden has 6 personal certificates:

Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist, Performance Enhancements Specialist, Golf Fitness Specialist and TRX Instructor.

With over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry, Branden has helped his clients realize the potential they didn’t know they had. He loves to educate his clients and others about his passion. His personal fitness includes functional exercise, mixed martial arts and hiking.  For Branden, working as a trainer is more than just a job, it’s his way of life.

Bring:  an open heart, a yoga mat if you have one,  clothes in which you can stretch comfortably and that won’t cover your face if you bend forward

When stretching, use the breath to “melt” the muscles.  Flexibility takes time – 5 to 10 breaths, at least, as you work in a pose.  Give yourself the gift of patience and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the new places you will discover!  Find a “place of rest” after each exhale to encourage the connection between the mind and body for gradually increased flexibility.
