WCC BuildingSUNDAY ~ 5th Annual Fall Festival     October 26, 2 pm – 5 pm     Admission is FREE
Please join us for an afternoon of family fun for all ages! Costumes are encouraged (no scary costumes, please), and we’ll have plenty of games, candy, and free food for all! Activities include a bounce house, face painting, and pony rides!

SATURDAY – October 25, 10;30 a.m.Pikes Peak Library presents “Super Snakes”!  Learn how to identify venomous snakes, what they eat, where they live and how they find their prey.   Touch (or watch!) a variety of snakes.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered at no charge on SUNDAYS .  Class begins at 5:30 and ends at 7:30 p.m.  This is an ongoing program for children and adults open to all English learners of any skill level.  Registration is open each Sunday for new students and children are welcome to attend.  For more information, please call 385-7920 Ext 100.

The  Fitness Center is OPEN Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30 – 7 pm!  The equipment is available for use at no charge during these hours.

Kids are Dramatic – Now enrolling for fall drama classes for grades kindgergarten through 5th.   Mondays 5:30-6:30 and Thursdays 6-7 p.m beginning September 29.  For more information or to register, please call Jacob at 806 544-1991 or  check  the website at www.kidsarerdramatic.com

Kid’s Dance Class with Laurie, Ages 3 – 5 – Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:15      This 8 week session will consist of a warm up, ballet, jazz, tap and creative movement.  Also incorporated are a bit of sign language and tumbling.  Please call Laurie at 510-4942 to register or for more information.        

Pickleball is the sport to try at WCC!     It is a combination of bad minton, ping pong, and tennis.  Paddles and balls will be provided, so please make plans to join us Wednesdays 1 -3 pm  and Fridays 10:30-12:30 pm.   There is no charge, so come give it a try.

SilverSneakers Classic, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 – 10 am.  This fitness class is designed for seniors who want to improve their general health and well-being and…it’s fun!  For more information, please call 385-7920 Ext 100 and then make plans to join us!

American Heart Association WALKING PATH at Westside Community Center – This is a sidewalk path that surrounds the Westside Community Center property, .33 miles.  A water fountain  is available in the main building, 1628 W. Bijou Street,  during normal business hours.

Hughes Hall is the perfect place for baby showers, group meetings, drama productions, or birthday parties. For more information on schedules, prices, and availability, please call 385-7920 Ext. 100.

AARP Tax -Aide will be offering tax help at WCC in 2015.  We need volunteers to serve as Instructors, Site Coordinators, and Tax Preparers.  Please contact the site coordinator, Len Hodges at lenhodges@q.com for more information.

Reach Pikes Peak  relocated to 312 S. Weber St. !  Reach offers financial assistance and counseling is provided for utilities, prescriptions, transportation, and other life-sustaining needs.   Open weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please call 719 358-8396 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

 

 

 

 

 

Westside Community Center follows School District 11 guidelines for inclement weather.  If District 11 is closed, WCC is CLOSED.  However, if District 11 operates on a delay, WCC will be open.
